Welcome to the Central West End! During the Gilded Age, the CWE was the wealthiest enclave in Saint Louis, which was America's fourth largest city at that time. Much of that wealth-flexing grandeur remains and has lived many lives since. I'm Mike Nichols, a local armchair historian and natural storyteller who has spent years researching the eclectic places, characters, and events around the CWE that have made this storied neighborhood such a quintessentially unique place.
